"Amaranth? What's wrong?" Jeni called to her as she saw the girl run from the Great Hall. Reka was sitting beside her and Jeni had been practicing her swordplay.

The girl shook her head and looked back, plastering on her smile. "Oh, nothing, just going for a.... um... run!" A very long run... "I'll-" never "Be back! Don't-" miss me, I know you won't! "worry!"

"O...ok!" Jeni called after her, though still worried. She didn't look to be in the best condition. "Reka, follow her. Be silent and unseen. Just make sure she's alright ok? I'm worried about her." Don't worry, she won't even know I'm there. I will keep an eye on her. Reka replied reasuringly and ran after her, her balck paws soundless running on the ground as she followed her, invisble to Amaranth.

Magic behind me... Amaranth thought, and cast a wary look over her shoulder. She couldn't see anything, but there was something there.. No, she was being paranoid and crazy again, wasn't that what had gotten her in this mess in the first place? Everything had been fine until she had left the brush, then she'd lost it, she had to leave before Aeos or someone wasn't there to stop her..

Reka continued to follow her. She had no idea what Amaranth was up to or why she was running. All she knew was that she had to keep watching. Jeni had been right to worry, Amaranth seemed out of touch with what was going on, but no one knew how to help.

Unfortunately, Amaranth was so caught up in her thoughts that she didn't notice the ravine until she was in it. She hit the bottom with a thud, but a much lighter thud than she had expected. Crap... Well, at least I'm not dead- wait a minute, isn't that the idea? Crap...

No! Reka thought frantically as Amaranth suddenly went over the edge. She tried to slow her down, but it wasn't enough, she was to far behind. She may have slowed down her fall slightly, but Reka still heard Amaranth hit the bottom. Reka raced over and peered over the edge and bounded down, skidding to a halt beside Amaranth. She looked her over and breathed a sigh of relief. Thank Jilath she's still alive. Reka thought, looking at her minor wounds from the fall.

Amaranth still couldn't see her pursuer, but now she was sure that it was there. She stared in the direction the feeling was coming from (her eyes falling exactly on Rika's heart would be if she had been able to see it) with wild eyes. Whoever it was, they hadn't harmed her. Yet. "Who are you?" she demanded shrilly.

Reka appeared before the girl, she didn't want to scare her. It's just me, Reka. Are you alright Amaranth? Reka asked her, concerned, her head slightly tilted to one side and her ears upright.

Amaranth shook her head. The Well had screeched. She allowed herself to use the magic- just this once- to get out of the ravine. "I'm gonna go back, Reka. I'm gonna watch the bonding, and then I'm leaving." At least then no one will care that I'm dead.
