"Really? I guess you know the place pretty well." He quickened his pace to keep up, lengthening his strides so he didn't fall behind. The shield was staying with him, so if she got out of range she'd be cold again.

"Yes. Pretty much. Although, seeing how big it is, there's always someplace I don't know about.....it's not like I get a map of the Town and everything in it and commit it to memory," Sasha smiled humorously. Then, indicating Norai, she asked, "How does she mangae to sleep and stay on like that?"

"I wouldn't think so. Norai? I have no idea." He shook his head, his eyebrows raised. "She just does. I don't think there's any way to do it. She just does. It may be physically impossible, but if Norai wants to do something badly enough, the laws of physics give way for her. She's very special like that."

"I wish that'd happen for me at tiems. Life would be so much easier if we could reverse gravity and other things rendered impossible by physics...Well, we're here." They had started down Main Street, otherwise known as the entering road to the Town. It was particularly nice....no one was ut, and only a solitary rider was ahead. Plus the blanket of snow muffled the noises of those who were walking about, hunched agaisnt the wind.

Demitri stared around with interested eyes. "Wow," he said. "It's beautiful! Though, judging by most towns I've seen, the snow's just hiding a lot of dirt, and possibly sludge."

"No," she disagreed. "The better parts of the Town are kept spotless...they can't afford to make a bad impression upon people, seeign as the Guild's nearby. The further you get away from the center and rich parts of here, however..."

"Really? That sounds nice. Usually there's all sorts of diseases crammed into the street. The auras nearly blind me. I suppose that a dirty town, though, would reflect badly on the Guild. And the Guild wouldn't like that, would it? I expect the town's been prospering recently. There are a lot of people around."

"No, they wouldn't. And it has been, since so many have been flocking to the Guild lately." Pausing, Sasha asked, "You said you travelled alot. WHat were the non-magical towns like?"

"Other than frightening and completely insane, they were pretty nice. Rather medieval, though. They've still got all those insane notions from many years gone by and don't treat their women very well."

"I don't think I would have liked to live there." Hmm. Probably not a good idea...she'd definitely end up killing someone within the first couple of hours. "Well...is there anyplace you want to go?"

Demitri thought. And came up with nothing. "Uh, no. Not particularly. Sorry. Hey, what time is it anyway?"

"It's about noon. Well, it was when we left..."

"Noon? Hm. Have you eaten yet?" Demitri suddenly realized that he was hungry. And Norai would wake up any minute and demand food. She always did that- exactly one o'clock. Every day. Food. Now. Or I'm eating you. "Because if you haven't, we could always go and get lunch somewhere... If the town has restaurants. It should. I mean, it's a town." He was rambling idiotically, so he shut himself up.

"Well, no, I haven't," she admitted, only now noting she was mildy hungry. "And that sounds nice- there are plenty of places to eat. Too many, in my mind, but, hey! They make quite a pretty penny, some of them...."

Demitri laughed. "Lead on."
