Now the man did draw his sword, and lunged for Quynh. Still looking bored, she stepped slightly to the side and he missed her throat by inches. "Oh, I'm sorry. Were you trying to hit me?" Well, if she was going to maintain her composure later on, she might as well mock people while it didn't matter. Damn, hadn't she told Adair to go the hell away? Well, so long as he stayed in his little hiding spot and the other mage- who had dissapeared somewhere, but she wasn't concerned- didn't find him.

Some man had tried to use some kind of spell on Adair's bush from behind, Adair had punched hmm, braking his jaw and nose, the knife in his neck probably didn't help either. Adair smirked and ate more popcorn.

Whoops, there went the mage's aura. Bye-bye. Quynh rolled her eyes. Sad. Their mage could be dispatched by a magic-less boy? It took her about two minutes to knock all four of the remaining men into the dirt, and she didn't bother killing them. "All right, Adair, let's-" For a moment, she couldn't figure out why she had stopped speaking. At first, she didn't even feel it. She just heard the spatter and saw the stain of blood on the ground in front of her. Then she felt it. Oh, shit. She jerked forward, and she even felt the blade exit the hole it had made in her back. Damn them, having two mages. That was definitely an unfair advantage. And this one wasn't even on record! She spun and kicked the sword out of the man's hand, grabbed him by the throat, and punched him in the face. He fell, senseless, and she kicked him. Her eyes watered. Damn it. That was a ruined dress. Well, at least this wouldn't kill her- you could barely call the effected area her back, it was so far to the side. The sword had really just torn out a very large chunk of flesh. Nothing vital hit, she knew that. But it hurt like hell. "Damn," she muttered, blinking hard to keep her vision from blurring from the way her eyes were watering and shifting focus as she tried to tear something that could be used as a bandage from her sleeve. Damn tough fabric...

Adair was already there however, his entire suit jacket pressed firmly against the wound. "You ok? And don't give me some bullshit yes I'm fine answer."

"Of course I'm fine," Quynh snapped. "Yuck. What I have to worry about is what sort of filth he had on that damn sword. And give me that." She seized the jacket- it was ruined by now, anyway- away from him. Damn. Well, she'd heal herself once she got home. But damn it, it hurt. Come on, she wasn't some priss! She could deal with it! ...But, really, ouch... Deal with it! If her parents were there to see her wince over such an inconsequential wound, they would be ashamed. Funny, worrying about what they would think when they'd both been dead for years. Actually, on that note, they'd probably disown her.

Adair frowned. snatched his jacket back and kept applying pressure, the bleeding hadn't stopped yet.

"Get off, or I'll have to hurt you," Quynh ordered. Actually, she wasn't really feeling like she was going to be able to hurt anyone. Damn it. Stupid thing kept bleeding so much. Ddddaaaaaaammmmmmmnn. There was probably some anti-coagulant on the blade... if it was magic, then it wouldn't just stop the wound from closing, but make it bleed more. Damn, damn, damn.

Adair was thinking the same thing as her until the flow began to ebb. Adair let out a breath of relief. "Well the blood flow seems to be stopping but i'm not letting go until it stops."

"If you don't let go, I really am going to hit you." This was a much weaker protest than she'd wanted, and she clenched her fist, digging her fingernails into her palm, to startle herself back into normalcy. It didn't work. "Besides, it's only a flesh wound. It will be fine." Okay, so it wasn't just a flesh wound, but he probably wouldn't know that, and she had to get him to stop fussing.

"Flesh wound my ass." Adair mumbled, not moving.

"Oh, do shut up." She didn't know it, but her skin was grayish from the blood loss. Why the hell had it bled so much? She wasn't one to bleed a lot. She hated those low-class shamans... always putting filth on their swords... She was getting a headache from all this.

Adair just shook his head while slowly replacing some of her blood with the rather minor amount of healing magic he knew.

Quynh bit the inside of her cheek. Stupid, stupid! She cursed herself. Not notiing that there was another mage, hiding his aura... She hadn't thought that a low-class shaman would be that skilled, especially if he was with that group. She had underestimated her enemy, and she had been injured. She deserved it. Much more training was required for her. All right, as soon as she got home she was grabbing her sword and going to train, and she was going to keep at it for... hm... three consecutive days and nights should be enough. Dia would be upset, but Dia was always upset...
