Khaliall was bored: More so, perhaps, than usual. Endella peered over the young woman's shoulder dubiously, as she trailed a finger down a dusty row of books. Is there anything useful in here? she inquired rather apprehensively. I mean... The Paladin squinted as she peered at the spine of a book, and smothered an exclamation in a cough. Her Bonded gave her a supsicious look. "Of course there are useful things in here..." she mumbled, pausing to take a book out of the row and then return it with a grimace. I find that hard to believe she grumbled. Khaliall rolled her eyes. "Stop complaining," she muttered, as she took out another book, before promptly returning it. "These are all useful...somehow..." Endella looked suspiciously at the book Khaliall was holding now. ...The life of slyme? she inquired pointedly. Her bonded did not respond.

((-breaks down laughing- Oh, that's lovely...Hmm. I'll drag in Ally. -wise nod- This prolly won't be a very nice thread...))
The half-spirit was BORED. There seemed to be nothing to do, and her owner had disappeared. Which angered her. If he was to disappear, SHE wanted the credit for his disappearance. And possibly death. But now, in her odd-looking human form she had entered the library. It had been so long sicne she'd read anything, much less a book, and Firedance...Ally...was going to take advantage of the fact that Navek was gone. Good riddance!

"Hello," Ary said, looking up from her own book. She had recently decided to try being more sociable. All right, so the library wasn't usually the place to socialize, but she loved books. She had hated not being able to read all the time when she was with Eris. So she'd come to the library. And here was someone who she could talk to. Convenient. Except for the bit where they were in a library... "If you're looking for something that you can actually use, you might want to check over there. This is generally the aisle where they keep they older and more, er, abstract tomes."

While Khaliall was too absorbed in trying to find something to read to notice anyone else in the library, Endella had decided that books weren't worth her attention, and had taken up a guarding stance at her back. As she noted Ally -Firedance- the Paladin gave the half-spirit girl a rather suspicious look, but refrained from comment. Khaliall had started to hum under her breath, and the spirit poked her into silence...causing her bonded to glare. "What was that for?" she demanded, setting her book back on the shelf. Some people are trying to read she told her significantly. Surprised to discover that they weren't the only ones there, Khaliall blinked. "...Oh. Hello," she murmured uncertainly with a glance towards Ary--still not noticing Ally. "Umm...The, er, abstract tomes look...interesting." She glanced towards the title, and hastily stuffed it back on the shelf. "If not in a good way. Uh, thanks!"

Dang it. Why did there /have/ to be others in the library when she was going there? Hopefully they ignored her. Picking up a book from a shelf titled 'The History of the Guilds' (although she knew it by ehart alread), Ally moved to sit at a table, ignoring the other two.

Endella, contrary to Khaliall's usual state of obliviousness to any world but her own- was well aware of the others in the Library. Now that her Bonded had started angling towards the so called 'useful' books of the library, the Paladin decided that she was going to go investigate. The 'Life of Slyme' sounded more interesting than some of things that Khaliall was murmuring to herself, having forgotten everything once more. So she would make her own 'interesting.' Spotting a rather strange looking girl sitting at a table, Endella curiously angled towards Ally, and hovered slightly behind a shelf to observe her with 'interest.'

Flipping through the book and mainly looking at the very artistic pictures rather than reading, she ignored the feel of watchful eyes on her. It was probably that SPirit. Instinctively she squirmed; Endella could know in a heartbeat what Ally was if she tried.

Khaliall let out a soft exclamation as she -finally- found a book that appealed to her, and looked up for Endella. Finding the Paladin gone, she glanced around with a very puzzled expression, as if expecting to find her materialising out of thin air. Of course, she didn't. The Paladin in question was still peering around her bookshelf, and wondering what in Kinuva it was that made the girl seem so...different. At last, it clicked. Or, rather, hit her. Khaliall, seeing her, threw a book at her head -competely by accident-, and as she stumbled to keep her balance, she got an inch or so closer to the girl, and realized it: she was half spirit! Ignoring her Bonded, the intrigued Endella moved minutely closer.

Ary glanced sideways at the two. Well, at least the Spirit wasn't bothering her. She hated being scrutinized like that.

Khaliall studied Endella with some annoyance, and then glanced towards Ary. "...Do you have a Spirit?" she asked absently, propping her hands on her hips and tilting her head to one side. "Does it ignore you? I mean, is that something all spirits do?" The Paladin stiffened, but was too absorbed to pay her much heed.

"No, I've a Djinn, named Soz. He's so overprotective it's ridiculous. I'm hiding from him right now. Ssh."

Khaliall blinked, and opened her mouth to say something, then closed it again. "Oh." She frowned at Endella, and jerked her chin in the spirit's direction. "That's Endella. Er...why are you hiding from...uh...Soz?"

Ally squirmed, feeling the Paladin's gaze tighten and lock onto her. The Spirit knew. She could tell. Firedance kept repeating in her head, silently, I will not get upset. I am here to relax. Even if all humans and spirits are nitwits. Control.

"Oh, I'm hiding from him because he found out that I have a m- boyfriend. He's having a heart attack somewhere, probably beating up a rock. If he finds me, he might just eat me."

Endella took a book from the shelf without looking at it's title, and wandered towards a table near Ally's. She wasn't very good at looking unsuspicious or casual. It was hard when one was wearing armor. As she sat down, she winced at the title. Jilath--she would have had to pick something to do with the breeding habits of strange animals... Khaliall nodded wisely, and then blinked. "Uh...I didn't know that spirits ate..erm...people..." she ventured curiously. "Why..." She paused, thinking. "Oh." Khaliall had never had a boyfriend, but she could imagine that Endella would probably not be overly pleased.
