Arasa skipped once, then broke into a run. The deer, the voice said, wasn't just tangled, it was hurt. Arasa didn't want it to suffer any more than it had to. She looked over her shoulder, and gestured for him to follow. "Come along!"

"Watch!" She stood back, and took one of the fans from her belt. With a quick jerk of the hand, a blast of freezing air rushed past Drais' face, and sliced a half of the bushes away. Arasa stowed the fan, and hurried forward to find the doe.

"Here she is!" Arasa was bending down to examine the side of the semi-stunned doe. Blasts of wind did that to animals who weren't expecting it. "Help?"

"Back up. She's hurt. You might hurt her." She took the branches from his hands, and waved him away. "Find something to splint her leg."
