"...but i'd much rather you bother me..." He said sincerely, on the verge of begging her not to go. It was more not seeing her for a month than anything else.

"No, you wouldn't," Ary said firmly. "Stop being unreasonable. You and I both know that that is not what you want, and not what I want, and so I'm going to leave. I'm sure there are a few of the larger males who would... tolerate me."

"Well i'm not completely sure, bu something tells me it is what I want...although if its not what you want...than...go ahead." he said, hoping she wouldn't go.

Ary grimaced. "Paden, from what I've seen and heard of humans-" she meant this literally... after all, she did prowl the halls at night three times out of every month, "-you don't take this sort of thing seriously. Wolves, however, do. Unless a mate dies or you're kicked out of your pack, it's for life. Humans seem to just... switch mates constantly."

Paden thought about it and decided, that last point had made the difference. "Ary...I want to spend the rest of my life with you..."

Ary smiled bitterly. "You don't even know me," she replied. She was practically at the treeline now. "Sorry," she said, and then she turned and dissolved into the shadows- she was still technically there, but she'd made her point.

Paden found himself on his knees, staring into the wooded darkness.

Great. Now there was the difficulty of finding a male that didn't mind her odd scent, and one without a great cluster of females with him- females got nasty when they had to compete. Still human-shaped, Ary leaned her back against a tree. Technically, she was only a few feet into the forest and could easily be pursued... Did she want to be pursued? Of course not. Of course she didn't.

Paden's eyes widened as he got an idea, it was drastic but he was desperate to be with her. He stood and ran for the guild as fast as he could.

Ary heard his retreating footsteps and sighed. Out of relief or something else she wasn't sure. Well, there wasn't much she could do now... She pulled off her hat, which had formerly been hiding her ears, and her gloves, which were ruined anyway, and opened her mouth to yawn, letting her fangs slide out.

Ary had been rolling in the dirt to remove the smell of human. She had been rolling in the dirt for a very long time. Now she was trailing a pack which she noticed had a beta without a mate. A partridge jumped into the air, fluttering madly, next to her, and she jumped. She was distracted. She hadn't noticed it.

The white wolf watched the bird as well, knowing she was nearby, though he didn' know exactly where.

Ary inhaled. A wolf nearby? Well, she had been distracted. Familiar scent, though. Ary went to investigate. Her fur was, at the moment, white. Better to blend with the snow. He shouldn't notice her for a moment, unless he was looking for her.

The wolf heard her nearby, his pointed ears standing straight up from his head. His yellow gold eyes scanned for movement.
