Yes you are and I will too! insisted the snake resolutely, coiling herself to spring at the hat. The white-banded underside showed again, as she angled herself upwards, posed to strike at the cloth.

Tessa obliged.
She struck like lightning, firmly grabbing onto the brim of the hat with short yet potent fangs. Venom dripped onto the hat, but his hand still held it on his head....and since she couldn't pull it off, Tessa's upper body was suspended in air, only the last couple feet of coils on the ground.
Definitely not a comfortable position.

Khe chuckled as he watched her swing from his hat. "See, I told you you wouldn't, who's the silly one now." He taunted but then his grin turned more friendly. "Need some help?" He asked kindly.

If she let go, she'd collapse in a way that would hurt herself. And she couldn't really hang on much longer.

Khe grinned and grabbed her gently by her arrow shaped head, dislodging her from the brim of his hat. "Here you go." He chuckled, setting her gently on the ground in front of him. "Better?"

She flicked her hood open from apparent 'boredom', the V-shaped white blotch plain on the back. Much.
Tessa gave him an amused look.
Or, at least, as amused as a snake could get.

Sorry about that, Tessa said moodily, watching him look at the new holes.
You should have thought before doing such a thing, she scolded herself. Now you've ruined his hat!

Ah. That made sense.
But there was a sudden withdrawal of the snake, and she bristled at his last comment.
Not a den of evil. Tessa said coldly. Obviously he hadn't been there long, or couldn't comprehend The Collective.

Tessa merely stared.
I never thought of it that way. mused the cobra. But I was born here... She trailed off, as an uncomfortable twinge was felt within her.
Dang. Not now.
Erm... Tessa said, providing a slightly uncomfortable silence, Could you do me a faovr? Turn around and don't look...
For all that she was, Tessa /was/ modest. And adored her privacy. But both of those didn't help when you couldn't control what was happening to you.

Probably.
But she really had no time to answer.
Already the Change had begun, and as quick as it was, it seemed to progress slowly to her.
After it was over, she quickly pulled on clothes, ran a brush through her hair, and turned back to face Khe, lightly pulling off his hat.
Tessa smiled as it fell to the floor.
