"Again, that refers back to choices." She glared at the fire, and it flashed out. "And Life ends, which means that the choice is that persons own." Short answers, which didn't seem to be much was defiantly Casrina's style.

"But if one," Tessa responded, choosing words carefully. "Had a series of eerie and unplanned coincidences happen to one's self that were not all their decisions, what would you say to that?" Gold eyes looked at Casrina warily, long since changing back to normal round pupils.

Casrina shot Tessa a look. This wasn't like her. "What, please, is your point? I am quite busy and do not have time for this. State what you must, then go."

A surge of frustration welled up in her about not being able to make herself clear. Anger combined with new found ability, and Tessa found herself slipping off the chair in a serpentine form. Does this clarify things enough for you? Asked a voice tiredly, frustration an evident undercurrent. The cobra hissed ominously, buching muscles together to pull herself up to look Casrina in the eyes, hood spreading in warning. Then, moodily, Can't control it either... The cobra collapsed from standing nose to nose with Casrina to collapsing to the floor, trying to figure out how to arrange her coils about her. It felt odd with no limbs, alien...and she didn't especially like it. The reason /why/ I ask about coincidences and etcetra is because something seems...wrong. Remember my old stallion, Naja? I thought I had made up the name myself. Remember I was one of Eris' early experiments, when she wasn't as far as splicing, and I was the one with immunity to poison... And then, is it sheer coincidence that I find out Naja means cobra in Latin? And is it when Eris picks out cobra, of all things, to useo n me in splicing last night? And that it is a venomous snake, while I am immune to all posion? I know she has her own sick jokes, but I also know that this was too in depth for her. The head swung up and around, while gold eyes appraised Casrina. So what do you think? Mere coincidence, or soemthing more?

"May be a plan on Vintaph's," Casrina said, looking completely unafraid of Tessa, or even astonished. "His ways are often... shrouded or untold to even me." Ze returned with the water, and set it next to Tessa's coils, snickering at her new form.

The snake swayed in what was to be intrepreted as a nod. That's all I was asking. And then she glided to face Ze. Spirit or not, she said softly, I still think it would hurt a hell of alot if I bit you. It was obvious the idea appealed to Tessa, and she was seriously considering it.

Casrina nodded, and then turned to go into the kitchen.
"So? You couldn't catch me if you tried." Ze rolled her red eyes, and stuck her tounge out at Tessa. "And you're despensible..."

I wouldn't bet on that. Eyes glinted dangerously, as Tessa eyed the spirit with a look almost like hunger. Cobras /do/ have one of the fastest strikes in the world. The tongue tasted the air, as the snake grew thoughtful, and absentmindedly arranged herself in a more comfortable position. You'd probably taste horrid; you smell it...Indipensible? Probably...but I doubt Eris would be too happy if I got killed off, as replaceable I am. It's hard to find good lab assistants nowadays. And whoever said I wanted to fight you anyways?

"You ever seen me move?" Ze asked, jumping backwards so that she landed on the head on the chair. She took out a knife, and began to clean it. "And I wasn't talking about fighting. If you hurt me, Vintaph will kill you. He's my lord, my father."

But what if we read into what Casrina said, and that maybe he does have some sort of obscure plan for me? challenged the snake, her hood flaring again. And why would I want to hurt you? Something close to a serpentine smirk flitted across her scaly features.

"Well, for one thing," Ze said, still examining her knife, "You are a pawn. Nothing more. Pawns are dispensable, and can be replaced. For another, you just said you did."

Pawns can be replaced. But so can kings and queens: they're just harder to find. And I changed my mind about biting you since you smell like you haven't had a bath in weeks- why would I want that grime in my mouth? she quipped, drawing her head up slightly.

"You say that tay can be replaced? But their position doesn't have to be crucial. Neither is a pawns." She paused, and looked up, "I had a bath last night. Your sense of smell must've been addled when Eris spliced you."

But doesn't that make you indespensible too, then? Tessa was enjoying herself, as she tilted her slim head to the right. Maybe. Or maybe you forgot to wash behind your ears; or forgot to use soap. Nevermind though- the point is, you reek, and i wouldn't even consider putting my fangs into you right now.

"No, I'm his daughter," Za said, standing on one foot, and peering at Tessa. "Oh good. Even with your ammunity to poison, you would've died if you'd bitten me, even without My Lords wrath. I'm poison."
