WAT [update 3]

Zeth heard a voice from behind him, vaguely registering that it was that of Japheth's. His head snapped around, ready to yell at the asshole some more, but he was taken aback to find that he was gone. "Wha..?" Zeth stared dumbly at the spot previously occupied by Japheth. He had no clue what had just happened or where Japheth was. However, he couldn't really care less.
Gently picking up the crumpled body before him, he stood up. She was light, as well as completely frozen. Zeth looked around wildly, wondering where the heck he could go. He had to find some place... or someone... anyone that could help. But he saw nothing but snow.

[Amaranth]

There was an abrupt, quiet whoosh of air.
It was one breath.
Only one breath.
One breath, however, was better than nothing.

Eris watched the scene on her monitor, and cursed vividly.
So close.
They had come so close to getting that life force. They hadn't even gotten the boy's! This was ridiculous. Now, of course, her little monster would die anyway, but the whole procedure was ruined, and the Collective would get nothing but the loss of an experiment and unknowing spy.
She slapped a moniter which had dissolved into static. She immediately regretted doing so, however, as it was very hot.
Ignoring her burned hand, she glared at a wall. The damn bug had stopped working.

[Jeni]

Zeth stared down. He had heard the small and quiet breath. He desperatly hoped there would be more. "Please..." He pleaded. "Please be alright." He begged, hoping against all odds she would reawaken. "I'm so sorry." He said sadly. He just couldn't bare it if she was really dead. He walked in a random dirrection, hoping it could possibly lead him somewhere where he could find any sort of help.

[Amaranth]

Another breath. And another. They continued on.
The problem now, however, was time.
If the Ritual hadn't killed her, the journey surely would.

Amaranth was distantly aware that it was terribly cold, and that her head was bursting with pain in contrast to the numbness which had pervaded the rest of her.
She guessed that this meant that she was somehow alive.
But why?
Her tired mind could supply no answer.

Zeth's hope was beginning to come back. He listened to her breath, loving the small simple sound of it. "Please... please." He continued to hope. "You have to be alright. I would just die if you..." He couldn't bring himself to say what might happen to her. He continued to travel through the snowy mountain, not caring about himself in the slightest. The only thing that mattered right now, actually the only thing that ever mattered was her. He had no idea if he was even going in the right dirrection. Until he found the hole in the ice. He gave an audible sigh of relief. He knew he was at least headed in the right direcction. Whether he could make it there in time though....was another matter entirely.

[Amaranth]

The realization came, as though from far away, that she was moving, somehow.
Had she fallen into a river?
No, it was barely out of winter. The rivers were frozen over.
Why else would she...?
With a great deal of effort, she managed to open her eyes. It did not seem that she was... anywhere in particular, but she couldn't see...
Someone was carrying her?
How odd.
Perhaps she was dead, after all, and she was dreaming.
She tried to squint through the light to see who it was.

Zeth's feet never stopped moving. He was completely determined to get her back saftely, even if it cost him his own life. He was walking at a much more brisk pace than his arrival, but the snow still slowed him down a bit. He glanced down to look at her and was shocked to find her eyes starting to open. But was a very good shock. He was thankful beyone belief.
"Amaranth?" He asked hopefully, the concern and worry clearly showing in his eyes.

[Amaranth]

Had her mind been working properly, she would have responded accordingly. However, she was exceedingly confused and still unsure of whether she was alive or dead. So she settled for staring up at him in bewilderment, then mumbling, "Are you alright, Zeth?" It was very difficult to speak, but she managed it anyway.
It was, after all, very cold out. He didn't have a coat. He must have been freezing!

You were just dead.
He doesn't have a coat.

"Am I alright?" He repeated her question dumbly. "Of course I am." He told her. God he was glad she was alive and able to talk. She was going to be alright. He was sure of it. He relif greatly showed and a smile, despite the situation, crossed his lips. "You should not be worried about me." He said firmly but kindly. "I'm worried about you. You're freezing cold." He said, noticing how cold her skin felt in her arms. Not to mention it was still cold outside. "But don't worry, I'm going to get you back safely." He reassured her confidently.

((I have to go..... I'll be on tomorrow morning before school and then after school from abour 3-4 before I go to Sodus,))

[Amaranth]

"Oh," she said vaguely. "That's good."
She couldn't keep her eyes open any more and slipped back into the darkness.
