Zeth heard the hysterical laughter and whipped around, facing Amaranth. He stood, staring at her, wondering what had happened. "Amaranth...." He said, comming closer to her. "You're bleeding! Profusely!" He cried, noticing the multiple arrows emebed within her, blood dripping from each one. "Let me help..." He said softly, trying to count how many arrows had struck her.

"Don't touch me!" Amaranth shrieked, jerking away even as her laughter stopped. "Don't touch me! I'll- I'll hurt you- Kill you- don't come closer! I want it back! No, no, don't take it, no! You can't have it! No no no no no...." She was screaming insanity now, looking at nothing but seeing something there, her eyes unfocused. "Mine! It's mine! How could you do this...? I trusted you! I loved you! No no no! Let go! Leave me alone... no.... please..." Her screaminig had stopped, and she was huddled on the floor, shivering and rocking back and forth. How she had ended up there she couldn't remember, but there she was. She blinked, and focus came back, a little anyway. It wasn't him... wasn't them... it was that mage... Zeth... a partner... a friend? No, she didn't have friends... who would want to be friends with a killing machine... A monster... They threw rocks at her, not smiles, or friendship... "No no no no no..." she whispered, clutching her knees close to her body. The arrows were still there, but she had long since forgotten them... The blood was on her hands...
((Yes. She is completely and totally insane. She has a lot of mental problems.))

Zeth took a step back, his hands held in front of him as she screamed at him. He waited, listening to her ramble and shriek. She definatley wasn't herself and Zeth wanted to help her, but she seemed to erratic for him to get closer. She calmed down a bit, huddled on the floor and he didn't care about her threats anymore. He moved closer, listening to her whisper "no" over and over again. "Amaranth? It's ok, it's just me, Zeth." He said sofly, trying to keep her and himself calm. He placed his hands on her shoulders in an attempt to calm her down. He looked straight at her. "I'm just here to help, ok? I'm your friend." He said, hoping she would allow him to help her.

Another weak giggle. "Friend? No, that's silly..." she muttered to herself. "I'm imagining things again... Seeing things... But this one is nice, someone wants to be my friend... Ha ha... I'm probably still sitting in that ditch... What a nice hallucination, though... You're very good, I even made up what you look like... Ha ha... But why isn't this one bad... Everything's bad, all the time... It hurts... Oh, look, arrows... Ha ha..." Naph cheeped in despair, but knew better than to go near Hers when she was like this. It was far too dangerous, she might try to blast her like she had before.

"Yes, friend." Zeth said confidently. "And you aren't imagining things. You are at The Guild of the Eastern Wind, doing some training excercises, with me, Kaos and Uni. We are your friends and want to help." He said, wondering what the heck had happened a long time ago to make her like this. "And, as a friend, I'm going to help you with those arrows." He said, still trying to keep her calm. He took a deep breath and gently grabbed the tip of one of the arrows. He let the light magic travel down the shaft of the arrow and around into the wound. It healed and the arrow fell to the ground with a soft clink, no pain would be felt and that wound was healed.

Amaranth sensed the magic and lost her momentary calm, ripping herself away. She was shrieking again, she knew, and she knew that her behavior would not be forgiven. She would have to leave, just like she left everywhere else. "No! Don't do that! Magic kills people! Magic hurts! Stop! I'll do it myself, don't touch me!" She pulled the arrows from her body with a jerk, tearing more flesh as she did. She couldn't let that stuff touch her, she wouldn't use it any more, she wouldn't hurt people any more, maybe she'd go back to the ditch and die like she was supposed to, that's where she belonged, she needed to burn, it was what she was destined to do, she would burn just like they had...
((Utter psychoness. This is the place where she's worst, she's only a bit crazy where I use her at other places because there's no magic to set her off.))

Zeth winced as she tore the arrows from her flesh, the blood comming faster now. "Listen to me!" He said, raising his voice, though not quite yelling yet. He really didn't want to yell at her, but he didn't know how to make her understand. "Not all magic hurts! Not all magic is bad, it's very useful and can be used to heal. See that place where the arrow once was? Look, there isn't even a mark there!" He said, moving a bit closer. He wasn't going to let her tear herself apart. She was obviously fighting some battle inside and it was intense. He had never seen her like this and he didn't like it. "Listen to me Amaranth, I will only help you, I would never dream of harming you. Please, let me help." He pleaded with her.

"No! I'm not afraid you'll hurt me, I'm afraid of me!" She continued to scoot away from him until her back hit the wall. "Look, the monsters are all gone, just leave me here! I'm just going to die anyway, just go away! Let me be!" She seemed to be thinking straight now, at least she knew where she was and who she was talking to. "I'm done! I don't like life! Leave me die in peace!"

"I am NOT going to just walk away and let you die!" Zeth practically yelled at her. "Sure, everyone is going to die eventually, but it's not time for you to die yet. You have to live and make the best with what you're given. You can't just give up!" He said, standing in front of her, looking directly at her. There was no way he would just leave her and let her die, he wouldn't do that to anyone.

She was suddenly on her feet, nose touching Zeth's. "You," she hissed, "Are a stubborn asshole. (('scuse my french))" She looked down at herself, glowed for a moment, and the wounds were healed. "There! Happy? Now I'm stuck here!" With that, she spun and left the room, shoving the boy roughly out of her way as she went. Naph followed, keeping her distance. Well, anger was better than hysteria..

Zeth was caught off guard as she shoved him out of the way, he thought she had calmed down a bit, and was glad to see she had, but wasn't expecting that. He felt something hard hit his ankle and he fell backwards, landing hard on his butt. He saw a monster under his legs, so that's what he had tripped backwards on. He looked at her receeding from the room, not sure what he should do. He really didn't want to upset her further, but he didn't want to leave her.

"Hey Zeth!" Kaos called to him from across the room. "Wheres she off to? Is she alright?"

"I really have no idea.... But I hope so..." Zeth replied, staring at the door, bewilderment and worry in his eyes. He looked down at his arm, there was a large gash which he hadn't even noticed until now. Placing his other hand on it, he healed it effortlessly and stood back up, steping over the monster he had fallen on.

"Well...as long as she's not hurt...she probably wants some time alone if her encounbter with the spell on this room was anything like mine..." Kaos replied thoughtfully. "We should probably find Uni, she's gotta be around here somewhere..."

"Yeah... I guess." Zeth said, looking around the room. He thought back to his own battle with his shadow self. "Man, that was definately weird..." He said, remembering how it taunted him, trying to make him feel guilty and alone.
