All right. Seraphen and Lamashtu's mother's name is... was Ananta. She had a younger sister by the name of Ahremen (Arille and Amaranth's mother) and another younger sister named Aneta. Now, the only problem is, on the island, only the first-born child is fertile. Ahremen was an adopted daughter, so she was fertile, but Aneta was infertile, entirely. She could not have children. Anantah's Lifemate's name was Nahash, the eldest child in his family... come to think of it, I don't know how you'd be able to have a character that's related to them, unless she was a sibling, or was adopted.
Yesh. What was I maybeing? Oh yeah. I was thinking more along the lines that, if you didn't mind that character being a bit younger, about 16 perhaps, she/he could be Amaranth and Arille's younger sibling, like their mother was impregnated again when their father took them to the continent and their mother stayed on the island
Well, you could go for something simple, like Ash, an egyptian deity often associated with snakes.
Nyoka is african for snake. There's also Corchen, Mehen...
I've found Agunua:
In the mythology of the people of the Solomon Islands, Agunua is a serpent god. He is the chief god, and all other gods are only an aspect of him. The first coconut from each tree is sacred to Agunua.
Dhakhan:
In Australian aboriginal mythology, Dhakhan is the ancestral god of the Kabi; he is described as a giant serpent with the tail of a giant fish. He often appears as a rainbow, as this is his way of travelling between the watering holes which are his homes.
Cirein:
Cirein crôin is a sea serpent in Scottish mythology. It is believed to be the largest of all living creatures, and seven whales were an easy meal for it.
Ayida:
In Vodun, especially in Benin and Haiti, Ayida-Weddo (aso Aida-Wedo, Aido Quedo) is a loa of fertility, rainbows and snakes, and a companion or wife to Damballa.
Aeternitas:
In Roman mythology, Aeternitas was the personification of eternity.
This goddess was symbolized by a phoenix or a worm/snake biting its own tail, wrapped up in a circle (an Ouroboros).
Angitia:
In Roman mythology, Angitia was a snake goddess. She was particularly venerated by the Marsi, a people from central Italy. May be same as Angita. She had the powers of witchcraft and healing. She was a master in the art of healing using verbal charms and herbs. Angitia was especially skilled in healing snakebites. Many Romans claim that she is the same as Bona Dea. Angitia is represented by snakes because they often represented healing in Ancient Roman Mythology and because of the fact that she could heal snakebites and kill snakes with her spells.
Kaliya:
Young Krishna was playing with the other cowboys on the banks of the river Yamuna. For some reason he had to climb a tree that stretched well onto the deep part of the river, where a terrible snake Kaliya was living. As Krishna fell from the tree into the water, the terrible snake came up. But Krishna, with his magical powers, subdued it. Kaliya, recognizing the greatness of Krishna, and surrendered, promising that he would not harass anybody. Then he let the snake go free into the river again.
Cerastes:
The Cerastes in Greek myth is a serpent that is incredibly flexible, so much so that it is said to have no spine. It can have either two large ram-like horns or four pairs of smaller horns. The Cerastes hides its head in the sand with only the horns protruding out of the surface; this is meant to deceive other animals into thinking it is food. When the animal approaches the Cerastes, the Cerastes promptly kills it.
The origin of the word is most likely from the Greek word, kerata, meaning horns, and the myth is most likely derived from the habits of the snakes in the genus of the same name, Cerastes. Which are desert dwelling animals, which can have horn-like protrusions over their eyes, and are ambush predators, though not nearly large enough to take prey items much larger than a mouse or small lizard.
Eingana:
In Australian aboriginal mythology, Eingana is a creator goddess and the mother of all water, animals, and humans. She is a snake goddess of death who lives in the Dream time.
Amikiri:
Amikiri (Japanese: 網切り), or "Net Cutter," is a creature in Japanese mythology. The Amikiri is said to resemble a cross between a bird, a lobster and a snake. Said to be primarily a sea-dwelling creature, the Amikiri can also "swim" through the air. This creature has an annoying habit of cutting nets, both fishing nets and mosquito nets in people's houses. The creature has also been said to cut holes in laundry hung out to dry.
Name: Ash
Age: Sixteen Turns
Gender: Female
Rank: Candidate
Appearance: Standing around her sister's height of five foot five, Ash has a slightly paler complexion. Her eyes are a bit more gray than Arille's teal, and her hair leans more toward the silver/white side. In mooonlight, it looks nearly as white as Seraphen's and L'math's. Under sunlight, it looks a dark, blueblackish-silver.
Notable features: The Threadscore on her right foot, the black ribbon of mourning she always ties onto her left arm, and the ring on a chain around her neck. It was Ahremen's.
Personality: Ash is rather quiet and slightly distrusting of people she doesn't know. Once you've gotten her trust, she perks up and is actually nice to be around, with a dry sense of humor and a quick smile. She never shows any distress about what happened on the island in public, and has absolutely no recollection of her family. They are all strangers to her.
General History: When their father took Arille and Amaranth to the mainland, their mother was left behind on the island, not knowing that she was again with child. Ash was born soon before Ahremen's death, and was taken care of by another family. When the first Threadfall came, she was on a chore by the caves at a cove looking for medicinial herbs for her surrogate mother's supplies. Like everyone else, she was awed by the beautiful Thread and simply stared at it until a strand fell onto her foot, scoring it almost to the bone before she dunked the foot into the water. After this incident, she ran into the caves and didn't leave until the Fall was over. Discovering the carnage, she fled to a boat her father had left behind in case Ahremen or any other relation cared to follow at some point and eventually found her way to the mainland, where she remained working in the kitchen of a minor Hold.
