Sasha winced. "I think I'll not call Kinny, then." She didn't want him getting hurt. And lately she'd come to face the fact that even as happy as the dog was, he wasn't young anymore. Seven years for a dog of his size was about half of the dog's life...

Damn. He'd upset her. He hadn't had a chance to talk to too many people who didn't want to kill him for some time, and he'd been very happy to be able to carry on conversation for as long as he had. And now he'd ruined it. Damn, damn, damn. "I'm sorry," he said. "She probably wouldn't kill him... She might just bite him..."

"No, it's okay. I'd rather not get Kinny hurt. I'd feel responsible and I don't want to risk anything..." Trying to change the subject, as this one was bugging her, she noted with some apprhension that Demitri looked miserable. "Well, is there any way to keep her from eating in front of you?"

"We could... run away... If you run away, she'll track you for a while, then get bored and hungry and forget. But that isn't really an option."

"How's it not an option?" she challenged, grinning. "I'm finished with my food, you almost are, she only just set out..."

Demitri stared at her. "...Because you don't want to have to run around when you don't really care either way if she finds us or not...?" Why would she do that?

"But it'd be fun!" she protested. "Even if there's freezing wind and snowfall outside!" Clearly, Sasha was at least semi-insane.

"Uh..." Demitri was still staring at her. It was tempting. It did sound fun. Except for the whole part where if Norai caught them she'd shout at him for at least four hours. And probably wake him up constantly at night because she was angry. If she didn't catch them, she'd forget it. "Are you sure...?"

"Positive!" said Sasha happily. Quickly she signaled a waitress to bring a check and signed her name, before grabbing Demitri. "Come on! She's already got a head start!" If Norai had caught her food, it would still take her about ten minutes to get back. If they left now, even longer. Plus it'd be hard for her to track because of weather conditions. Oh, this was going to be fun.

"...Ack...!" He had been seized. It wasn't so bad, because he was, well, male, and being seized by an attractive girl was never a bad thing. Not that that had anything to do with anything. But he was glad to have made a friend. (Had he, really?) He laughed, after the initial shock wore off, and kept them at a walk out the door and down the steps, and then broke into a run away from the forest as soon it was safe and tried to avoid running into people.

At least it wasn't icy. She had start to laugh but the wind tore it away. Not that it mattered. They tore down the biggest street, and then she led him through a side one, focusing on getting back to the Guild but coming in the back through the kitchens.

Demitri didn't bother with a windshield- this was too fun! Even the biting wind only added to the excitement. People would shake their heads. A grown man of twenty-five racing down the street, laughing insanely and behaving the total fool- a grown mage of twenty-five, for that matter!

She ignored the queer looks the were recieving from people as they reached the very rich district of the city. Sasha slowed, trying to yell to Demitri. "PRETTY HOUSES, AREN'T THEY?" Of course, due to the wind, it sounded like, "Pretty houses, aren't they?" But before he could reply or admir the buildings, she was off, racing to who-knew where.

Demitri opened his mouth to agree with her, but before he could say a word, she had sped up and he had to do the same to keep pace with her and not fall behind- if he did, he'd get lost and have to fly out, and that always generated awkward questions. So he just sped up and continued following.

She was tiring now, but ignored the ache starting to build up in her legs as she continued. Sasha, in a very insane and definitely unusual sort of way, was having fun. Vaguely she wondered where Norai was at that moment, but found she didn't particularly care about that fact anymore.
