Petpetpet! begged Kinny, tryign to lick Demitri's face as much as possible. "You like him?" asked Sasha, smiling. She was pleased....most didn't like odd mutts who didn't have a clue of what to do.

"He's adorable," Demitri said decicively, squatting properly so that he could pet the dog. "What's your name, buddy?" Lord, he's done it again.. Any time he sees a dog, he goes insane and has to hug it and pet it and absolutely adore it for the longest time... You can imagine how he reacted to bonding to me.

Kinny looked strangely blank at the mention of his name. Erm...? Can't 'member... It didn't quite bother him though, his ears were being scratched. And that was ALL that mattered. The girl positively grinned at a combination of her dog's words and Norai's. "His name is Kinny. And I suppose that's better than him hating dogs, right?"

"Kinny," Demitri repeated. "Kinny-winny, champ! You're a good dog, aren't you? Who's a good dog? Who's a good dog? You are! You are!" Norai stared at Hers in mild horror. Disgusting, isn't it? Rather pathetic, if you think about it...

Yes! Good dog! he agreed, tail wagging extremely fast as he pressed against Demitri and begged for more scratches. And now Sasha was positively laughing. "Not really," she gasped, tears beginning to run down her face. "I talk to him that way...."

"You're so good! You should win an award for being so good! And cute, too! Oh, you're such a good dog! I bet your person just loves you up!" Norai winced. I suppose I'm just jealous, she said. He never tells me I should win an award...

'ward? Bonebonebone? Sasha, wiping a couple tears from her eyes, nodded. "Well, it's probably because he thinks it's understood...I mean, you are his Spirit...."

"Yes indeedy! A bone's the very thing... In fact, I think I might be able to find one right now..." Oh, no... he's gonna do the bone trick... Well, it might have something to do with the fact that the first time he tried to baby-talk at me I bit him...

Kinny gave Demitri the most awed look that a dog could ever give. REALLY? His tail thumped against the ground as he sat and looked up at the man expectantly. "Hmm. Yes, that might have soemthing to do with it..." Really, they were both amusing. And interesting. Plus Kinny was amused....

"If you'll just excuse me for a moment..." He grinned, stopped scratching, and held out his hands. One moment, no bone. The next, there was an absolutely massive doggy-bone resting on his palms. "Here ya go. Doggy bone." He returned to petting the dog, now humming to himself happily. Norai whined slightly despite herself, jealous.

The mutt's eyes grew HUGE. He immediately set down to chewing it, gnawing on an end and layign down, another paw atop of it to keep it in place. Being Kinny, and not as protective as his food as otehr dogs, he pointedly asked Norai, Share? The bone was very large..... "How'd you do that?"

Norai hesitated, and then acceded and jumped on the bone. She was tiny compared to it. "Hn? Me? Oh, I'm a mage." Demitri stood up and duted off his trousers. "It's just a summoning charm, I've got a huge supply of those in a storeroom that someone refills every time I run out... I just have to move it from there to here."

"Ah. That explains it, seeing as I'm not..." She watched Kinny scrape his teeth against the bone in ecstasy for a couple of moments, before turning back to Demitri. "What were you doing away from her for so long?"

"Hn? Oh, just wandering around. Seeing what good I could do." He made a face. "Not much, as it turned out. Turs out, the farther away you get from the Guild, the less and less people like magic. In some places, it's even regarded as evil. Crazy."

"That's...odd. Does magic even exist there, or is it there and jsut hidden?" She wanted to know more.....the idea was absurd yet sounded strangely realistic.
