Thistlen shook her head, keeping her mouth shut. Jadin had this one. Well just look at the tatters of your old ones, fool! she said, gesturing to the ripped garments scattered on the floor. When you Changed, you practically blew them up!

Tessa nodded. "And it should be private and free. Unfortunately for us," she said, indicating THistlen who had coem in, "it isn't. Interesting. Maybe she's who Eris was fuming about?" Eris....Tessa shuddered. Was the bloody evil genius cursed or somewhat? She hadn't died... The girl managed to grin, and half-smirk at Thistlen's words. "Welcome to the fmaily," she said somewhat mockingly, "pointing at the torn clothes he had been wearing.

Navek looked at his previous clothes, noticing them for the first time since he had changed. Well, he hadn't expected that. Though it did make a lot of sense why it would happen. Right. Yes. Where can I get some? You know? He asked, the question directed at both of them.

"I suppose I could look around for soemthing for you..." Tessa disappeared for a couple of minutes, before coming back with clothes that she'd gotten from some spare, miscellaneous closet. "Don't ask." The clothes were left upon his bed, nice and folded, and she took her position from before.

Thistlen spoke again, since Jadin had stubbornly refused to do so and she had to say something. "I brought you some..." she informed him in the same quiet voice, holding out the robes. They were the nicest she'd been able to find in the storeroom when she'd gone to get the key, and they looked as though they'd fit well enough. She wished she could do something, well, nice for Navek. After all, it was partially her fault he was stuck here. She felt guilty. But she was careful not to think any of this too loudly, in case Eris heard... But now they weren't necessary, since Tessa had brought some already. Thistlen blushed (for some reason embarassed) and retracted the hand hurriedly. "Sorry..."

Thanks. And I won't. I would probably rather not know anyway. He said with as much of a luagh as a horse could manage as Tessa returned and put the clothes on his bed. And thank you too, Thistlen. I appreciate it. He said to her as well. He'd have to remember to get some spares and keep them around. Should he ever get out of here that is..... Even if he was here, he would still need some.

Thistlen looked at her feet. He'd said 'thank you.' And he'd actually meant it. For some reason, that made her feel... happy... or something... 'Happy' was a word she'd only heard used to describe Eris' behavior, so 'happy' didn't seem quite appropriate. She'd liked her books a lot, and they made her feel 'happy,' or something, but since Ary and Amy had escaped, Eris had decided that the books were an incentive to leave and had taken them away. Thistlen was jealous of Tessa- the other girl was allowed to much freedom, at least in Thistlen's eyes, because she'd chosen to become an experiment, so she was to some extent trusted. Thistlen usually lived in her cage, or often in the bad-bad room. Thistlen was very bad.. she was always thinking that she didn't like Eris, and that she'd rather be somewhere else... Eris didn't like it when Thistlen thought. 'Free will is dangerous,' she said, 'and if you think, you have free will.' That was what she said before she went in the bad-bad room again...

He probably wouldn't want to know. Actually, where they came form was fine, but how Eris had gotten them was another story... Quite bored with herself and those around her, she took the opportunity to Change, and was pleased when she had gotten it perfectly. Her control, she supposed, had become better. But it was easier for her to become a cobra than turning back, and her more half-ish form was more easily accessed from being human first.

And that was when Navek completely flipped out. As a human, he had absolutely no problem with snakes. In fact, he liked snakes, and would've had one as a pet if he had the chance. But, as a horse, it was a completely different story. Normal horses are already scared of snakes. Especially poisoness ones. But Navek didn't have the instincts of a normal horse. He had better ones. And when Tessa changed into a cobra, his instincts kicked in. He saw the snake and reared up, stepping back a few feet. In the process, besides making a few rather loud neighs, he knocked over a table and sent a chair flying at the nearby wall behind him.

She immediately realized soemthing was wrong. Maybe it was the rearing and backing up rapidly from her that made her get it. Calm down! Get a hold of yourself, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Tessa desperately fought the urge to strike, as it would be the natural thing to do...he was threatening her.

Calm down! The rational half of his brain was yelling. SNAKE! The horse side of his brain freaked. Get a hold of yourself. It's just Tessa. Cobra! Navek put his front hooves back on the ground, slightly relunctantly. The horse instincts still screamed 'Danger!' at him. But the human side tried to reason and stay calm. He back up a few more paces, luckily not hittng anything, his blond tail flicking quickly in aggitation. He shook his head, still not liking the presence of the snake, but Tessa's words and his rational thoughts prevented him for crashing through the door or something.

It's only me, she said crossly, a bit annoyed with Navek. And I'll only get you if you trample me, and even then it'll only be a reflexive reaction. Was he really so skittish? And, she added, If it makes you feel better, I can stay right here and not come any closer...

Sorry. Navek apologized, finally being able to calm himself down. It had been quite difficult and he wondered why. He wasn't afraid of snakes. Instinct kind of took over so I only thought about you being a snake, not a person. He tried to explain. But, if you wouldn't mind, please stay right there. Otherwise my instincts might try to take over again and something else will probably get broken. He said, glancing at the table he had knocked over and the broken chair. Sorry about that too.

Tessa shook her head slowly. This was sad. I'll stay right here then. And instincts can be...hard... Ha. She should now. After developing a taste for small, furry animals....

Thank you. Navek said greatfully. He still didn't know why he had completely flipped out. Were his instincts really that strong? This would get interesting... And yes, I noticed. If I wasn't a horse, I wouldn't have flipped out. I've always liked snakes. He told her, still eyeing Tessa warily for some reason.
