"Well, just going by what I was told when we got Kinny...you don't really want to go for a specific one. The lady -I swear she was a philosopher- said to me, 'You do not choose the dog; the dog chooses you.' Which is what Kinny did...." Sasha smiled briefly, grinning at the mutt. "Thank Jilath for telepathy- you can get to know the dogs before you adopt them."

Feeling uncomfortable with helping make this decision (what if she helped make a bad choice?) Sasha shifted her weight. "Well, do you know what size of dog you want?"
And then she asked what she'd been dying to say: "What does Desh think about getting a dog?"

"He doesn't know," Uni said in a singsong voice. "I was hoping to get a dog that's big enough to keep him away... I don't know how he's going to react, but I suspect he'll become even more overprotective of me and it, so that Kaos won't be able to even come unto the guild..."

"Okay, so that excludes all the toys and miniatures." Uni contemplated for a moment whether getting a small dog might be the thing. If Desh was scared of a teacup poodle... no, best not to risk it. "The dogs also going to be a sort of gift to Kaos..."
