"Pretty isn't she?" There was the soft crunch of leaves underfoot.
"Yes."
"Oh, don't you dare sulk." It was almost possible to hear eyes rolling in the silence.
"She'll do nicely. We have enough power."
"We? Who said anything about We? It's your plan." Silence again, then a sigh.
"Go away, and take the spirit with you. Drain him too."
"Yes Mother."
"Good girl." Another sigh, then silence.

Az was tossing and turning. The dreams were still coming. Everynight, worse and worse. The entire guild was affected. It didn't help that every night the dreams became more vivid, more real, more alive. Pain could now be felt, and all senses were hightened. Right before you died was when you awoke, but it was such a close run thing. One eye cracked open, and Az glanced over at the bed, where Oerin, still such a young boy, had taken to sleeping. He'd been to scared these past nights to sleep by himself. Tonight however....
"Oerin?" Az asked, rubbing sleep from her eyes. There wasn't an answer. "Oerin!" She scrammbled from her position in the chair, and stummbled to the bed. She tore the sheets away, and staggered back. All that was left there was a lock of brown-black hair. Around it were letters in a dark sticky subtance. Don't worry.... You're next.
