She wouldn't tell them her real name, the one she'd recieved at birth. Oh, no. They were not worthy. Plus they were human, therefore despicable and meant to be crushed. The 'girl' considered options for a moment. She could give her Da's petname for her, and the one she called herself as a mare, as she had been the last seven years. "Firedance," she said after a short hesitancy. It was said with a certain finality, as if they would DARE question her....

Claidi took in a deep breath, before Russet nudged her. He wanted to do something besides meditating. "Fine," she said, standing up. "But, what to do?" She listened for a few minutes to the other three, before walking back over,"Your name's Firedance? That's pretty. I'm Claidi, I don't care if you don't care about what I am called."
OutOfChocolate: The 'I don't care if you don't care' means that she doesn't care weither or not the other person cares. If you already knew that, yay for you!^^ If not, then, now you know.

She looked at Claidi with interest. Firedance, as she had chosen to call herself, did trust females more easilt than men. Men were cruel. They used the whip, the hard-bit, the plow. The women she had been sold to had never been as evil. Bored with the fire, and preffering her larger form, she shifted yet again. The mare trotted to Claidi, looking at her with one queer eye. Nice to meet you. Because anyone who got up at around one in the morning to greet horses couldn't be /that/ bad.

"Nice to formally meet you, Firedance." Navek said. "That's a very unique name." He said, meaning nothing against it, his tone indicated almost admiration. He watched as she changed forms again, the sight still seemed new and unfamiliar. Sure, he had seen Reka change from a human to a wolf many times, but this was just so different. He was still shocked by the fact that the mare he had bought in the market was really half spirit, and he vaguely wondered if anyone else knew about it.

"Nice to meet you, too," she replied, smiling. Russet pulled his lips back in his wolfish smile.

((Hey Luxa- You realize that animals can talk telepathically here, doncha?))
But, quite obviously, the courtesy of the mare's did not extend to Navek. Still she regarded him with aggressive suspicion, and didn't bother to hide it. Meka also carried around a hardness that her 'owner' did, and was treated the same way. Firedance looked at Russet warily. Even if she was somewhat human, she did have more instincts of prey...the wings fluttered in slight agitation.

A half-smile formed on Meka's lips as the mare --Firedance-- ignored them. Watching her with some interest, she whispered out of the corner of her mouth, "Navek, where did you find her, exactly? I mean, how many people try to own half-spirit horse? With the occasional murderous intent? Kinda hard to miss."

((Letting you know, then! ^^))
Just as quickly, the mare whirled in upon Meka. I heard that. The flecked black eyes flashed.

Navek regarded Firedance for a moment before answering Meka's question, and, since Firedance had heard it, he didn't have to whisper. "Some guy was selling her in town. I didn't get a name though, or why he was trying to sell her." He answered. "Maybe Firedance would like to give us some insight?" He asked kindly, looking to her to see if she wanted to give any information.

She was slightly miffed at how Navek was treating her, but decided his niceties were all a front... Why would I care about his name? And he got rid of me because I wouldn't let him ride me.

"No one should be able to ride you! I mean, you have feelings, too! Did he even know you had a human half? If he did, then he was just plain stupid!" Russet looked up at her, Calm down. "How can I calm down?! That's abuse!!!!!"
OhOhSee; Angry Claidi. RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!!!>o<

"I agree." Navek said, echoing Claidi's feelings. "He had no right to ride you, are aren't a horse. You're part spirit, so you're human too. Thinking he can ride you is just wrong, as Claidi said, no one should be able to ride you." He said, thinking about how horrible of an idea it was.

"Well, if you see that guy somewhere, tell me. I'd like to rip him into pieces!" She growled. No, really, growled. She felt like ripping something to pieces! But, instead, she took a few deep breathes before talking again,"Sorry, I'm still not completely human. But I'm working on it."

The horse snorted slightly. He didn't know. She shook her mane to free a leaf that had been stuck in it, before continuing, Although I was sure I'd thrown him enough times to get the point across.
