"I don't... know..." Ceredin inhaled again, turning in a slow circle. There it was again... She tried to zero in on it, then stopped, looking vaguely puzzled as recent events caught up with her. In a very unCeredin-like fashion... she fainted.

Zeth didn't comment on Amaranth's look, he didn't care if she wanted him there or not. He was going. Whatever was going on made him very uneasy. He could feel something wrong. And he had a bad feeling that something else would go horribly wrong tonight. But he would keep Amaranth safe, no matter what it took. He knew she would probably protest, saying she didn't want him to get hurt, but, as he had already told her (a few times actually) he would never leave her alone and would always protect her. The hallway was dark and empty and he shuddered slightly. Everything just felt so ominous and foreboding. He looked down one way and down the other, but you couldn't see anything. The only light was from the slighly open door to the Great Hall. He had wandered around the castle before during the night, but it never felt like this before or seemed as creepy.

Calyx of course was right there to catch her. He gently pulled her to the hallway wall and propped himself against it as he held her. He wasn't going to leave this spot until she woke...unless of course he had to stand up and protect her, but in that case he wouldn't leave the area.

((...
I posted with Sara, now I've nothing to do with her. Unless soemone deems her worthy to talk with.))
Sasha sleepily rose from bed, reluctant to leave the warm covers. But soemthing felt wrong. Really wrong. Yawning, she pulled over a coat and went to where aeos lay dead.

Eventually, Amaranth shook herself and went out into the hallway, heading toward the doors. She had to shut out the memory from a few days ago- investigating blown-up trees, she had traced the scent to Aeos' favorite spot under a table and thus discovered the identity of the forest-destroyer. Well, now she thought she knew why he had been so upset. He and Jeni had obviously been arguing for quite a while. She got up close to the door and actually sniffed the wood itself. She looked like an idiot, but she didn't much care. She couldn't detect anything unusual, though, other than the horrible, clinging acrid scent of blood, which was all over her. She should probably wash it off. "I can not smell anything!" she said, frustrated. "I can only smell the blood and us. I should probably change into something that isn't covered in blood and get it out of my hair, or I'll never smell anything else."
Upon waking up, a few minutes later, Ceredin followed her first instinct by punching Calyx in the face for the second time in so many days before realizing who it was. "Oh," she said. "Sorry. You okay?" Great. Another embarassing episode within ten minutes of the first.

Serge looked at Sara and then Fayd. "We could patrol the halls. It'd be good to have a Mage with us. Would you like to come, Lady Sara?"

"That would probably help." Zeth said. "That way you can focus on trying to get the scent of the killer instead of having the blood overpower everthing." He said, a tingle going up his spine at the thought. "So, we go to your room and you can wash off the blood.." he said, a slightly disgusted look on his face, "and then we can work on tracking down the killer ok?"

"Yes," Amaranth said. "Let us do that." And, uncharacteristically confidently, she strode off down the halls, eyes glowing a furious blue in the darkness. If anything jumped out at her, it would seriously regret it.

"Yeah i'm fine." he laughed. He had expected something like this and had thought to cover his face with his hand as she began to stir so while his plam stung a bit, in general he was perfectly fine.

((Hahahaha, I'm sure it would.))
Zeth followed after her, making sure to keep focused on anything that could possibly be out of place. He keep his eyes and ears open for any sight of movement or noises. When they finally got to her room with no interference Zeth stood beside her door. "Ok, I'll be waiting here until you are finished. Then we can look together." He said, hoping that maybe they would be able to find some clue to the mystery.

"Sounds good....But," she hesitated, "There still could be some sort of clue in the room. Because I'm quite sure that Aeos was murdered, and didn't just accidently kill himself with exploding bacon."
Sasha regarded the room in horror, red-brown eyes wide in fear. "What happened...?"

"Then we can search the room," replied Fayd as Serge opened his mouth to say something.
