It had been about 20 minutes since the end of the party. All had returned to their rooms and were either asleep or settling in. The guild was silent, dark, and peaceful. Or at least it was until an anguished scream echoed through the guild's stone hallways. The voice had been that of a young adult male and had come from the direction of the guild hall...

Amaranth sat up in her bed, letting out a shriek of her own before running out of her room and running straight into Ceredin, who had apparently had the same idea. "WHAT'S GOING ON?!" they shrieked at each other. Realizing that neither of them knew, they took off for the Guild Hall. Someone would be there. Someone would know.

Jeni had just gotten to her room and she was about to settle in for bed when she heard the scream come from the Great Hall. Terror struck her as her heart stopped in fear. "No.." She whispered to herself. "It couldn't..." She said before bolting from her room to the Great Hall. But she knew it was true. She knew the scream anywhere, even though she hadn't heard it often, which made it even more terrifying. Hoping against all odds that everything would just be some cruel, stupid joke or something she burst into the Great Hall and frantically searched around. Her blood froze as she saw blood splattered on a nearby table. It was on the table and the papers on top of it, and it trailed onto the ground underneath it. Cautiously, she approached the wooden table, terrified of what she would find underneath it. Bending down, she let out a yelp as she saw a limp figure underneath, covered in blood, and she quickly pulled him out. "Aeos!" She screeched, realizing that she had been right. "No..." She burst into tears upon a painful realization that he was dead. She couldn't believe it. It wasn't true. It just couldn't be! "I'm sorry.... I'm so sorry! I said all those awful things! I said I wished you were dead! I didn't mean it! I swear I didn't mean it!" She pleaded, the tears and guilt pouring out of her.

This was the scene Amaranth and Ceredin found when they made it to the Hall. Ceredin froze, eyes wide. Horror managed to register on her face, somehow. It didn't seem like it should have been able to. Dead...? Had to be, no one could bleed that much and live long... But... No! This was ridiculous! He couldn't be dead! That was insane! Amaranth reacted differently, running forward and kneeling next to Jeni. She looked as horrified as Ceredin, but somehow she was convinced that it was.. not real, or something. Aeos? Dead? Could never happen. Ever. Especially not because of some stupid scroll! Paper-white, she looked at Jeni. "Did... you... see?"

Zeth skidded into the Great Hall seconds later. He had heard the scream and of course had run back to investigate. He froze upon the scene he came in on. Staring in disbelief at Jeni and Aeos his face drained in color, looking even more pale than it had from his costume. He stood behind Amaranth, looking down at the three of them, compleatly silent.
Jeni shook her head slowly from side to side. "No...." She said defeatedly. "I found him like this." She said, the pain she felt evident in her voice. Her hands were covered in Aeos' blood, as was some of her clothing. "Oh Aeos.... I should have told you the truth. I shoudn't have lied to you. Why did this have to happen?.... I'm so sorry. I didn't mean it, I didn't mean it." She said again, over and over again.

Amaranth wasn't quite sure what to do. Her first thought was to grab hold of Jeni and try to comfort her, but that wouldn't help, probably- the Guildmistress did not look like someone who could be comforted at the moment. Her second thought was... well, there wasn't a second thought. Thinking was a luxury for those who were not sitting in pool of the blood of one of their friends. At this point, Amaranth's white nightgown was... well, a completely different color, and her hair, still dyed-blsvk, had escaped from its nighttime braid and was matted with... the stuff. So instead of thinking about it, she did what she had first thought to do. She didn't say anything- that would have only made it worse, she thought- but she felt slightly better.
Ceredin was still transfixed in horror, arguing with herself. The world had collapsed around her ears. No, he couldn't be dead- but he was, clearly. But that was impossible- no it wasn't! Someone had murdered him- no one could do that! This was dear, idiotic, loveable Aeos! Who could kill a guy who thought sleeping under tables and making exploding bacon was fun? He was adorable! This was insane! Not even that stupid scroll thing could have made anyone do this! Unbelieveable. That is what it was. Uncertainly, Ceredin took a step forward, then skittered back. If she got too close, if she touched... it... it would all be real. From where she was, she could still deny it.

((That's all I figured out, because that's all they left clues for, as far as I'm concerned. After I figured that out.. well, I was too busy trying to strangle Fear through a screen to bother looking for more clues. That's not the entire thing, I don't think. There are probably going to be huge twists and all that and I'm pretty sure that it's going to be a murder mystery. Anyway. We hate you, Fear. IF THIS IS ALL A SICK PRANK BY AEOS, HE'LL REALLY GET SLAUGHTERED! As I've warned you several times. It had better not be. Pretty sure it isn't. But if it is... -looks warning-))

Rayne skidded into the Great Hall, attracted by screaming voices and...Blood?! Warily approaching, the small crowd made room for her, partly out of fear of Byakko and partly because she was Aeos's second in command. Suddenly, she caught sight of the actual figure laying motionless. Her dark eyes widened, partially thinking she had suddenly lost her sanity. She rubbed her eyes. The same picture, the same picture that sent a flaming knife piercing her heart.
"No."
The usually hardy, rough Lieutenant dropped to her knees, stunned. "No." That couldnt be. All the times Aeos and she had teased each other, the long complaining conversations over all their piles of work, all the memories flooded her. She just stared, shocked, trying not to let out the tears threatening to fall.
"NO!"

Serge and Fayd burst into the hall at the same time, both of them still dressed in their costumes. They had been up, walking around the Guild, thinking. Both caught sight of Aeos and Serge paled slightly.
