Taras came blasting around a corner at the screams. It took him a bit to get there, seeing as he took several wrong turns, but he eventually reached them, still dressed in his party costume for some odd reason. His eyes seemed to bug out when he saw the carnage. "Oh, man.."

Jeni had also heard, her heart sinking when she did. "Oh, no, not another murder!" She cried, running from the Great Hall down to the barracks as quickly as she could. She stopped dead, seeing the bloody mess and Zeth lying in the middle of it, Corrine, Ceredin, Calyx and Taras standing there as well. She covered her mouth with her hands, forcing herself not to cry out. She was compleatly horrified.

Calyx's eyes were still wide but listen to Ceredin had helped him a great deal. "You realize i'm never leaving your side again right?"

"Yes, yes, whatever you say, Calyx, now please be quiet." Ceredin glared at Jeni, glaring being her natural state of being, especially under stress. Which she was. "Okay, quit crying over it, everybody. Crying doesn't solve anything as Amaranth clearly realized better than the rest of you and we need to find this murderer before we hear more screaming, right?"

Corrine slowly walked over, fight back a wave of nausea. I mean, how bad could it be to hurl right by a dead guy? "Maybe we could have five or six people patrol?"

Jeni looked over at Ceredin and nodded in response. "Yes, we really need to find who did this, before andymore innocent people get hurt." She said angrily. "Has anyone seen Amaranth?" She asked, wondering where the girl was.

Ceredin shook her head. "No, but I've got her scent, and I'm assuming she has the murderer's, because she charged off thataway." She pointed in the proper direction down the hall. "After causing serious damage here, that is," she added, taking in the destruction of the hall. Major reconstruction would be in order in case anyone was fond of walls or plumbing. Or anything resembling an inhabitable space. The destruction wasn't the murderer's style, so it had to be Amaranth.

"Ok." Jeni said with a small sigh of relief. Amaranth was still alive, and maybe had a clue as to where the murder was or something. "And I don't care about the damage. That, can be replaced." She said a bit sadly, thinking of Aeos and Zeth. Lives of the Guild memebers were more important than any castle.

"What should we do, Jeni?" Ceredin asked, for once asking for advice.

Jeni thought about it for a moment. In all honesty, she wasn't sure what the best course of action was. She would hate to see another person be at the mercy of this killer. With already two painful deaths, more would just be too horrible. "Well, maybe you could go try to find Amaranth and see if she knows anything or has the killer's scent. Then you, Ceredin, can hopefully try to follow it as well." She suggested.

Ceredin nodded and took off after Amaranth scent. Before she left eyesight, though, she halted. "...Cover... cover the body up or something. 'Cause that's just nasty." And then she was gone, racing after the scent.

And of course Calyx was right behind her, he'd be damned if he let even a spider get near her.

Amaranth had picked up a scent. It was familiar, but she didn't know whose it was, and that was reason enough to track it. She sensed Ceredin's energy before she could even hear the catgirl coming, and so was completely... well, not calm, but unbothered... when Ceredin skidded into view in front of her.
Ceredin stared at Amaranth. Had it not been for the familiar hair, clothing, and ears, the girl would have been unrecognizable. This was not the sweet innocent with wide, warm eyes and a welcoming smile, not any more. Her face was pale and set, like marble, and her eyes were narrowed, burning with fury. Ceredin took an unconscious step back. "You've picked up the scent, then?" she asked, deciding not to mention anything sensitive. Amaranth regarded her silently for a moment, then said, "I have picked up a scent. I do not know whose it is, but that in itself gives me reason to pursue it. I do not know the murderer's scent, either." Again, Amaranth cursed herself silently. How could she have just left him out there all alone? How could she have taken so long to get back out? How could she have not heard anything? Why hadn't she saved him?

Jeni looked over at Zeth and sighed. She walked away briefly to go get a sheet, disobeying her own orders to not go anywhere alone, and came back, drapping it over Zeth's crumpled body. The killer would pay for this.
