Moping

[Amaranth]

"It's hard, but you'll get used to it eventually," Demitri assured him. "It's horrible to have someone you care about dissapear. But, like I said, she'll be back. And I'm sure she'll be fine. Who knows? Maybe the reason she left will be something good."

[Jeni]

"Maybe." Zeth said, looking a little brighter. Then he decided to change the subject, continuing to talk about Amaranth's dissappearance would probably not end well. "So, is Norai a spirit?" He asked, looking over at the winged wolf. It certainly wasn't something you saw every day.

[Amaranth]

"Yes, she is. And I love her."
Please don't say weird things...
"But it's true!"
But that's a really weird way to say it...
"I'm sorry..."
Norai shook her head and looked at Zeth. Jilath, he apologizes more than anyone else alive. For really idiotic things, too...
"...Sorry..."
Stop it. You see?

[Jeni]

"That's alright." Zeth said to Norai. "I'm quite used to it actually." He said truthfully. It was strange, he didn't anyone could apologize as much as Amaranth did. It was almost funny how much Dimitri acted like her. They could've been siblings had he not known any better.

[Amaranth]

Used to it? I've known him for nearly a decade and I'm not used to it. You met him less than ten minutes ago.
"Please don't make a fuss, Norai, we don't want to upset him..."
I'm not making a fuss. And you're the one upsetting him, making him talk about what was making him mope...
"What?! I'm upsetting him?"
Yep.
"Ack! I'm sorry!"

[Jeni]

Zeth shook his head. "No really, it's fine. I'm not all that upset anymore." He said. For the time being. "And, the only reason I'm used to it isn't because of Demitri, it's because Amaranth apologizes for everything. Yes, everything. And I keep telling her she doesn't need to, but she does anyway." He said with a small shrug.

[Amaranth]

"Oh, good. Amaranth? Is that your wife's name? It's a very nice name. My little sister's name was Aranth. Add an 'Am' to Aranth and you have Amaranth. You know, I saw some amaranths up on one of the mountains- they're perennial, so they're still in bloom. Lovely color, too."

[Jeni]

"Yes, she is my wife." Zeth said with a smile. "And that's very interesting, that your sister's name is Aranth." He said, thinking about it. Strange how the two names were so similar. "Really? I haven't been to the mountains in a while, so I did not know that they grew there."

[Amaranth]

Was, Norai said, bluntly and completely without sympathy.
"Norai, please..."
I'm sorry. No, really, I am. That wasn't kind of me.
"It's okay. Anway, yes, they are. You could probably get some for her for when she gets back. They're magical herbs, did you know? They have healing properties, and they represent immortality."

[Jeni]

"Sorry." Zeth apologized, feeling a little bad about making that mistake.
"And no, I didn't know that. I'm not very familiar with their properties, I only know what they look like. But thanks for the tip, and the idea. I think I might just do that. How did you find out? A book?" He asked.

[Amaranth]

"Oh, I lived in the mountains when I was a child. There were a lot of amaranths around, and my parents knew about them. Aranth loved them, so I always tried to find them for her. She showed them to our parents and they told us about them. She really liked finding that out- she was like me, hated people being sick."

[Jeni]

"I can agree with you there." Zeth said with a small nod. "I hate to see poeple sick too. I don't like being sick myself either. It's really not a fun way to spend the day." He said, rolling his eyes a little. He hated being sick. It sucked. "So, were you close with your sister then?" He asked, hoping he wasn't touching on a touchy subject.

[Amaranth]

"Yes, I was," Demitri said, and then laughed. "It was sort of pathetic, actually- she was five years younger than I and I was afraid to go outside without her, after a while. It was really difficult after she died. Had to do everything by myself."

[Jeni]

Zeth laughed. "I don't think the outside would harm you. In most cases at least." He joked. "How did she die? If you don't mind me asking that is."

[Amaranth]

"I don't know. I woke up one morning and she wasn't there- I told our parents, we looked, and we couldn't find her. I suppose she got lost and froze, or fell off the side, or was killed by some sort of wild animal. Then we moved away, and so we never found her body."
