[Amaranth]

"...and not tie innocent people up and throw them in a lake..."
Demitri shook his head. "Honestly, some people were absolutely horrible. Practically foaming at the mouth, some of them."

[Jeni]

"Yes, that would be something to stop doing." Zeth said, a slight shiver going down his spine at the thought. That was such a horrible thing to do. "The whole mob mentality thing, no? It's crazy what people will do when they form together over such a horrbile idea."

[Amaranth]

"Burning people alive, torturing them, binding them in chains and throwing them in large bodies of water- like I said- and... absolutely horrible things they'd do. And even if they survived one of those, that just meant that they were more guilty and they were killed directly. Awful. Yes, it's definitely the mob mentality. In addition, everyone was afraid that, if they didn't show the proper zeal in the affair, they'd be next..."

[Jeni]

Zeth frowned, thouroughly disgusted with what Dimitri had said. "That's awful. Not to mention barbaric and completely out of line. You wonder how it all started? Like, who was the one that decided that magic was evil and spread their philosophy, making it stick and therefore that happens?" He shook his head in disgust.

[Amaranth]

Demitri made a face. "I'll tell you what, if I ever find him, I'll make sure to let you know. Though, if I find him, it won't do you any good to know who he was any more..." He smiled bitterly. "What a horrible thing to do. Killing other people for no good reason. Humans are terrible creatures- if we don't understand something, if it doesn't fit in 'the box,' it's evil and must be destroyed. It's the way we are- it's hateful and horrible, but that's the way it is."

[Jeni]

Zeth nodded, agreeing with what Demitri just said. "Yeah, we are pretty horrible creatures aren't we?" Zeth said with a slight grin. "Not everyone of course, but the population in general. If you put it that way, it's almost simple to understand why the whole nuclear war happened in the first place."

[Amaranth]

"...But let's not even start on that particular topic," Demitri said, quickly. If they started talking about that, he'd probably get upset, and then Norai would throw a fit.
Again.
Norai suddenly looked up.
I am hungry, she informed him in a rather regal tone, despite the puppy-behavior she had been exhibiting a moment before.

[Jeni]

"Fine by me." Zeth agreed. He didn't really wish to discuss it anymore either. Then he looked over as Norai spoke. "Well, is there anything here?" He asked Demitiri, wondering what she ate.

[Amaranth]

"Uh-oh... Norai, no."
Norai was running away, full-tilt.
Out the door.
"Norai..."
Demitri sighed.
"She's gone. When she gets hungry, she loses all sanity and runs for the nearest stand of trees, completely ignoring any food that might be nearby because she'd rather have a rabbit. I don't know why. I think she does it to torture me, because she knows I'm a vegetarian and I especially hate to see newly killed animals. She brings the rabbits here and eats them in front of me."

[Jeni]

Zeth watched, slightly bewildered, as Norai made a break for the door and vanished. "Well, I guess she knows what she want then." He said with a small laugh, looking back to Demitri. "And you're a vegetarian? That is to bad that she brings her food back then. Especially if you don't like to see that. I can imagine if you don't like to eat meat then you wouldn't want to look at it. Don't tell the cook, Illi, she loves meat." He laughed.

[Amaranth]

"I eat fish and all," Demitri said, sounding depressed. "I just don't like the idea of killing innocent little creatures when one could survive perfectly well without doing so. The fish don't count, according to Norai. She says that they don't even think. Well, that's according to Norai, but she's good with things like that... And I was really hungry. And I'd run out of stores, and she had a fish and didn't tell me what it was until after I ate it.... she somehow cooked it herself. Or stole it from someone. I was never really clear on that." He shrugged.

[Jeni]

Zeth laughed. "I guess you'll never know, huh? But I take it you enjoyed the fish then? It's funny how sometimes things can taste much different than you expect and if you eat it without knowing you can come to like it."

[Amaranth]

"You're right," Demitri agreed. And then he couldn't think of anything to say. "Well, she's gone for now... Probably won't be back for a few hours..."

[Jeni]

"Well that's a while. Does it take her long to hunt the rabbits or does she just like to take her merry time eating?" Zeth asked curiously.

[Amaranth]

"She just likes to take her merry time finding the 'perfect meal'. First she has to decide what size she wants to be when she eats, then she has to decide what kind of rabbit she wants, and then she has to decide which rabbit she wants because she can find so many, and so on and so on and so on and so on."
